CEIIA

CEiiA is a Centre of Engineering and Product Development focused on fostering sustainability and quality of life, addressing complex challenges across the board and working in high-tech sectors such as, mobility, aeronautics, ocean and space. As one of the largest R&D investors in Portugal, with a team of engineers, CEiiA is capable of mobilizing entities (universities to major companies) for the development of new products and services, reinforcing Portugal's knowledge-based economy. 

During the pandemic, CEiiA merged its engineering and production capabilities with the knowledge of medical doctors, and the support of companies and patrons (4Life Community), developed and produced the Atena Medical Ventilator, in just 45 days. Atena V1 (rapidly manufactured version) is now in production (500 units already produced); Atena V2 is under development towards the highest standards of sophisticated marked ventilators.
